Mai Shiranui Sparks Massive Interest in Street Fighter 6

Street Fighter 6 enthusiasts are buzzing with excitement as they return to the game to test out the latest addition to the roster: Mai Shiranui from the Fatal Fury series. Capcom's acclaimed fighting game has been a massive hit, with sales reaching an impressive 4.4 million copies as of December 31, 2024. Despite some fan feedback about content updates, the developers have recently delighted players with the introduction of Mai Shiranui.

As the third fighter added in the second season, Mai Shiranui's inclusion has significantly boosted the game's popularity. On the day of her release, the peak concurrent players on Steam soared past 63,000, a sharp rise from the previous peak of 24,000 to 27,000 players and marking the highest since May 2024. Mai is accessible to Battle Pass holders, allowing them to delve into World Tour mode to build relationships with her, master her moves, and then put their skills to the test in the Battle Hub.

Adding to the excitement, a second costume for Mai, inspired by her iconic look from Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, has been introduced. Furthermore, the Battle Hub welcomes a temporary guest, Professor Woshige, a renowned developer and legend in the fighting game community, available to play until March 10. Alongside these updates, the game now features new Master League ranks and rewards, enhancing the competitive experience for players.

Capcom has also released a captivating trailer showcasing Mai Shiranui's dynamic techniques, further fueling the anticipation and excitement among the Street Fighter 6 community.
