Liam Hemsworth Debuts as Geralt in Season 5 of The Witcher

The White Wolf is back for the last time. Production for The Witcher Season 5 is currently underway, and new photos of Liam Hemsworth as the lead, Geralt de Rivia, along with other new and returning characters, have surfaced online. These seemingly leaked set photos, available on the Witcher fan site Redanian Intelligence, showcase the Hunger Games actor in full costume, complete with the character's iconic long blonde hair. Familiar faces such as Meng'er Zhang as Milva and Joey Batey as Jaskier, who have been part of the series since Henry Cavill led the cast, are also featured. Hemsworth was announced as Cavill's replacement for Season 4 and the final Season 5 back in October 2022.

Additionally, set images reveal new characters introduced in Season 4 who will continue into the final season, including the legendary actor Laurence Fishburne, known for his role in Morbius, as Emiel Reigs. Through these leaked set photos, fans speculate that Season 5 might draw inspiration from Andrzej Sapkowski's "Tower of the Swallow," where Geralt encounters beekeepers who guide him toward druids. However, with Season 4 yet to be released, the storyline could take any direction, leaving plenty of room for speculation and anticipation.

Henry Cavill isn't the only cast member to depart the series and have their role recast. Kim Bodnia, who played Geralt's father figure and mentor Vesemir, will not return for Season 4 due to scheduling conflicts. Netflix has yet to announce Bodnia's replacement for the role, and there is no official release date for Season 4 at this time.
