LEGO Unveils Jango Fett's Starship and New Star Wars Sets Before May the Fourth
LEGO has unveiled an exciting lineup of nine new Star Wars sets, all set to launch on May 1, 2025. This release is part of Disney's comprehensive celebration of May the 4th, also known as Star Wars Day, which LEGO traditionally marks with the launch of an Ultimate Collector Series Starship. In 2023, fans were treated to Luke's X-Wing Starfighter, followed by the TIE Interceptor in 2024.
This year's highlight is Jango Fett's Firespray Starship, famously known to Star Wars aficionados as Slave I. LEGO has confirmed that the name change to Firespray Starship, implemented in 2021 at Disney's request, will continue to be used. This adjustment aims to avoid any discomfort associated with the term 'slave' in the brand's imagery.

The latest iteration of this iconic LEGO starship is a significant upgrade from the last 'large' version released in 2019, which celebrated the 20th anniversary with 1007 pieces, based on its appearance in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. The new set, inspired by Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones, boasts an impressive 2970 pieces. This model is nearly three times larger than its predecessor, with dimensions of 7.5 inches high, 17.5 inches long, and 15.5 inches wide.
