Krysten Ritter Confirmed to Reprise Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

Krysten Ritter is set to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the eagerly anticipated second season of Daredevil: Born Again. The exciting news was officially announced at the Disney Upfront presentation in New York, confirming months of speculation and rumors about the return of the Netflix Defenders to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Ritter shared the stage with her former co-star Charlie Cox, expressing her enthusiasm about stepping back into the shoes of the beloved crime-fighting private investigator. "It's so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders and now joining the MCU," Ritter stated. "I'm so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!"

The character's journey continued through two more seasons and the team-up series The Defenders. As Netflix's partnership with Marvel for original programming came to a close, fans feared they had seen the last of Ritter's portrayal of Jessica Jones.

However, in 2021, Disney reacquired the rights to several characters, including Jessica Jones. With Charlie Cox's return as Daredevil in Spider-Man: No Way Home and the subsequent launch of Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+, hopes were reignited for the return of other Netflix heroes. The inclusion of The Punisher in the first season of Daredevil: Born Again set the stage for Ritter's comeback in Season 2.

Ritter's last appearance as Jessica Jones was in Season 3, which aired in 2019. Her comments at the upfront presentation hint at more adventures for the character within the MCU, but for now, fans can look forward to her role in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. While a release date has yet to be confirmed, showrunner Dario Scardapane has indicated that new episodes will premiere in March 2026.
