J.C. Lee Denies Elder Abuse Claims Against Her

by Jacob May 05,2025

In a revealing interview with Business Insider, J.C. Lee, the daughter of the iconic Marvel creator Stan Lee, has publicly addressed and denied allegations of elder abuse against both her father and her late mother, Joan. These accusations first surfaced in 2017 following Joan's passing and were detailed extensively in a 2018 article by The Hollywood Reporter (THR). The THR piece painted a troubling picture, alleging that J.C. Lee exerted pressure on her parents for financial gain and control over their assets. It described intense verbal confrontations and a volatile relationship with her father, including claims of at least one physical altercation. The article also included photos of a bruise on Joan Lee's arm, which were used to support the allegations against J.C. Lee.

In her recent interview, J.C. Lee firmly refuted these claims, stating, "They are all lies. That photo is insane. I never did it." She explained that she chose not to publicly deny the allegations at the time of the THR article due to advice from those around her, a decision she now regrets. J.C. Lee admitted to having heated arguments with her parents over financial matters but emphasized that these disputes never escalated to physical violence. "I never ever touched my parents," she asserted.

Stan Lee passed away in 2018 at the age of 95 from a heart attack. The Business Insider interview delves deeper into J.C. Lee's life, exploring her experiences growing up in the shadow of her famous father, her financial struggles, feelings of manipulation and loneliness, her creative endeavors, and the challenges of living with her father's enduring legacy.
