Insomniac's Recent Job Listing Hints at Early Development of Marvel's Spider-Man 3

A newly surfaced job posting at Insomniac Games suggests the early stages of production for Marvel's Spider-Man 3. This follows the immense critical and commercial success of Insomniac's previous Spider-Man titles, and the numerous unresolved plot points left hanging in 2023's Spider-Man 2. While Insomniac has confirmed Spider-Man 3's development, details remain scarce.

Speculation surrounding Spider-Man 3 intensified after its inclusion in a leaked Insomniac game list following the PS5 release of Spider-Man 2. Further leaks hinted at new character introductions within the Insomniac universe, though a release date is likely years away.

A recent job posting for a Senior UX Researcher at Insomniac provides a compelling clue. The listing states the researcher will lead research for a AAA title in early production, requiring a three-month stint at Insomniac's Burbank UX Lab.

Spider-Man 3: The Most Likely Candidate

Considering previous leaks, Marvel's Spider-Man 3 appears the most probable candidate. Marvel's Wolverine, another Insomniac project, is reportedly in advanced development, while rumors of a Venom-centric Spider-Man 2 spin-off slated for 2024 cast doubt on it being in early production.

This leaves either Spider-Man 3 or a new Ratchet and Clank title (rumored for 2029) as the game in question. Given Insomniac's current focus on its expanding Marvel universe, Spider-Man 3 is the more likely contender. However, this remains speculation.

Regardless of the specific title, the existence of a new Insomniac game in early production is exciting news for PlayStation enthusiasts.
