The record was confirmed last week during a ceremony at Indonesia's historic Borobudur Temple, which also served as the device's official launch event. At its slimmest point, the phone measures just 5.95mm, expanding to only 6.09mm at its thickest.

Participants typically pay a fee and consult with their team, but regardless, Infinix's investment appears well-justified given the substantial media attention it has generated.

But how much thinner can smartphones realistically become? While further reductions might be possible, I'd personally hesitate to carry anything more slender than the Hot 60 Pro+ in my pocket.
