How to Complete the Straw Hat Quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Certain quests in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 unlock only after reaching Kuttenberg, where you can travel between regions. With a new area to explore, here’s how to complete the “Under the Straw Hat” quest.

Unlocking the “Under the Straw Hat” Quest

To start “Under the Straw Hat,” you must first begin the “In Vino Veritas” side quest in Kuttenberg. Upon arriving, find Casper Rudolf on the west side of the city, offering free wine samples. He’ll ask you to gather information to improve his wine.

You can either head directly to Havel and share wine knowledge or retrieve Casper’s book from Adleta to learn more about wine. If you approach Havel, ensure you’re dressed in fine clothes and well-groomed, or he won’t engage. When speaking with him, choose “Germany,” “Steinberger,” and “It’s missing ginger” to gain his insights. Return to Casper with the information.

Entering the Vineyard

Casper will then task you with infiltrating a vineyard north of Kuttenberg to learn about the incense Havel mentioned. Wandering into the fields is trespassing, so stick to the main road and speak with the recruiter. He’ll assign you the “Under the Straw Hat” side quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Continue along the road, pass a guard at the estate entrance, and locate Jerome on a bench.

When speaking with Jerome, say you were sent to report there. He’ll provide details about working at the vineyard.

Tasks at the Vineyard

Your job begins the next day, so return to an inn to sleep and head back to the vineyard in the morning. To earn pay, move sacks to their designated spots and pick plants like Thistle growing near the vines. Alternatively, you can focus solely on finding the secret incense.

The incense is located in the wine cellar, downstairs from where you met Jerome in the main building. As a worker, this area is still restricted, so avoid getting caught. Use a lockpick or steal Jerome’s keys to access the cellar.

Locate a chest in the cellar and take all the Sulphur Wicks inside to complete the main objective. For an additional reward, collect five seedlings for Casper. From the main building’s entrance, head straight to the opposite door to find the seedlings. This is trespassing, so act quickly.

If you complete your work, visit Jerome at day’s end for payment. Otherwise, return to Casper with the wicks and seedlings, if collected.

This completes both “Under the Straw Hat” and “In Vino Veritas” in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. You can then tackle other side quests, such as “Master Schindel’s Toys.”
