Google Play Awards 2024 Winners Revealed

Google just announced its top picks for the best apps, games, and books of 2024, revealing a mix of anticipated and unexpected winners. Curious to see who took home the coveted awards? Read on for a complete list of the Google Play Awards 2024 winners.

Standout Performers

The title of Best Game of the Year went to AFK Journey, a fantasy RPG developed by Farlight and Lilith Games. Its expansive world, stunning visuals, and epic battles featuring a massive roster of characters secured the win. While the victory of an "Away From Keyboard" idle game might surprise some, the game's exploration elements and impressive graphics clearly impressed Google.

Supercell's Clash of Clans earned the Best Multi-Device Game award, a testament to its successful expansion beyond mobile platforms to PCs and Chromebooks. Players can now build bases, train troops, and conquer rivals across various devices.

Other notable wins include Supercell's Squad Busters for Best Multiplayer Game and NetEase Games' Eggy Party, which took home the Best Pick Up & Play award for its accessible gameplay.

Unexpected Triumphs

The Best Story award saw a surprising winner: Solo Leveling: Arise. While a well-received game, its narrative might not be universally considered its strongest point, making this a rather unexpected choice.

The Best Indie title went to Yes, Your Grace, developed by Brave at Night and published by Noodlecake. Initially released on PC in 2020, its mobile debut this year has already made it a popular RPG.

Other Award Recipients

• Best Ongoing: Honkai: Star Rail
• Best for Families: Tab Time World by Kids at Play
• Best Play Pass Game: Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance
• Best Google Play Games on PC: Cookie Run: Tower of Adventures
