For better or worse, Hwang Dong-hyuk's Squid Game has evolved from a sharp critique of modern society into a genuine global phenomenon. This success has inevitably led to a wave of merchandising, marketing, and, of course, collaborations that might seem at odds with its original message. Regardless of how you feel about it, many players will be excited to learn that Squid Game is making a surprise entry into Garena Free Fire.

Yes, following closely on the heels of Free Fire's ongoing eighth-anniversary celebrations, the deadly games from the series are arriving in Garena Free Fire. This crossover coincides with the premiere of Squid Game's third and final season on June 27th.

Starting July 14th, players can dive into classic competitions like Red Light, Green Light, risking it all for victory. The event also lets you dress in signature outfits, equip themed accessories, and even use iconic voicelines from the show.

The crossover extends beyond the digital realm with a new real-world challenge launching across the United States. The Ddakji Master Challenge, inspired by the traditional Korean game featured in the series, will run from July 16th to 27th.

Fans in Dallas, Houston, and Miami can test their tile-flipping skills, with the top performer across all states reportedly winning a cash prize of $4,560. Given that this isn't Free Fire's first Netflix collaboration (following the Money Heist event), it's clear the developers are continuing to pull out all the stops.
