Fortnite reverses its controversial decision about one of the skins

The iconic Master Chief, star of the Halo franchise and a beloved Fortnite skin, recently returned to the item shop after a two-year hiatus. This brought joy to many fans, but a controversy quickly emerged.

Initially, a special Matte Black style for the skin was offered exclusively to players using Xbox Series S|X consoles. For a considerable period, Epic Games advertised this style as permanently obtainable. The subsequent announcement of its removal, therefore, caused significant backlash.

Some players even considered legal action, threatening a class-action lawsuit, believing the change violated certain agreements. However, Epic Games swiftly reversed course within 24 hours. The Matte Black style is now available to all Master Chief skin owners who play a single game on an Xbox Series S|X console.

This reversal appears to be the most sensible outcome, particularly given the holiday season. Such a move would likely have soured the festive cheer for many players.
