Fortnite Unveils Blitz Royale: Fast-Paced 32-Player Mobile Battle Mode

Fortnite introduces Blitz Royale Mode, a mobile-only feature expanding the game’s offerings. Following Fortnite’s reentry to the EU through the Epic Games Store and the App Store in the USA, this marks the first significant update for mobile users.

What’s New with Blitz Royale in Fortnite?

With only 32 players, a compact map, and matches lasting under five minutes, Blitz Royale delivers quick action. Players start with an identical random medallion or unique weapon.

The mode eliminates the early-game loot rush, leveling the playing field. Success hinges on strategic use of starting gear, navigating storm circles, and securing eliminations to boost your Blitz Level.

Progression unlocks enhanced gear and power-ups. Play solo or in squads of four, with Golden Chests and Supply Drops offering high-risk, high-reward opportunities.

Instead of standard loot names, Blitz Royale uses Boons for power-ups. Building mechanics are absent, creating a distinct departure from traditional Fortnite gameplay.

Blitz Royale also reshapes Fortnite’s training experience. Team Rumble is replaced by Training Grounds, a single-location mode with unlimited respawns.

Event Schedule Overview

Blitz Royale runs through July 15th, featuring four themed weeks. Launch Week begins June 18th, showcasing Mythic versions of classic weapons like the Rocket Ram, available in rare Golden Llamas.

Starting June 24th, week two introduces pagodas inspired by the Four Nations, with players receiving a Bending Scroll from Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Bad Bosses week arrives July 1st, replacing Bending Scrolls with potent boss weapons, including Thorne’s Vampiric Blade and the new Blitz Chain of Hades.

The final week, TMNT Melee Mayhem, starts July 8th, featuring melee weapons from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the Mythic Typhoon Blade, Megalo Don’s Nitro Fists, and the Blitz Kneecapper.
