FFVII Remake Part 3 Development Confirmed

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth's sequel is in development, but fans will need to be patient for updates, according to game director Hamaguchi. 2024 was a successful year for Rebirth, winning awards and attracting global attention. The team aims to expand the FFVII fanbase with unique challenges in the upcoming third game.

Hamaguchi also cited Grand Theft Auto VI as a noteworthy game this year, expressing support for Rockstar Games amidst the pressure of GTA V's success.

Specific details about the third game remain scarce, but development is reportedly progressing smoothly. This is notable given the recent release of Rebirth less than a year ago. Hamaguchi promises a unique experience.

However, the news isn't all positive. Final Fantasy XVI's May 2024 launch sales underperformed, falling short of projections. While exact figures remain undisclosed, Square Enix similarly refrained from releasing recent sales data for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which also missed internal targets. The company maintains that neither game's sales constitute a complete failure, and Final Fantasy XVI still has time to meet its goals within the allotted 18-month timeframe.
