HBO's Harry Potter Series Casts Draco, Lucius Malfoy

The upcoming HBO Harry Potter series has finalized casting for several pivotal roles including Draco Malfoy, Lucius Malfoy, and Molly Weasley.

Katherine Parkinson, renowned for her role in The IT Crowd, will bring Molly Weasley to life. She takes over the role of Ron Weasley's mother and Weasley family matriarch previously portrayed by Julie Walters in the film adaptations.

Rising star Lox Pratt has landed the coveted role of Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter's platinum-haired Slytherin adversary throughout their Hogwarts years. Johnny Flynn of Lovesick fame will play Draco's cunning father, Lucius Malfoy.

The casting announcements also revealed several newcomers joining the Hogwarts student body: Leo Earley as explosive-prone Seamus Finnigan, Alessia Leoni as Parvati Patil, and Sienna Moosah as Lavender Brown.

These announcements follow earlier casting reveals including Bertie Carvel (The Crown) as Minister Cornelius Fudge, with Bel Powley and Daniel Rigby cast as Harry's unpleasant relatives Petunia and Vernon Dursley.

With production approaching, most principal roles have been filled including Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley.

Veteran actor John Lithgow leads the cast as Albus Dumbledore, joined by Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell, and Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch.
