For years, fans of the original 2007 game *Kane & Lynch*, developed by the renowned Hitman studio IO Interactive, have eagerly awaited a big screen adaptation. Over time, the project saw various Hollywood stars attached, sparking excitement and speculation about its potential.

This week, *Nobody 2* director Timo Tjahjanto took to social media to share an intriguing update. He revealed that he had crafted a treatment for the *Kane & Lynch* film, envisioning David Harbour—best known for his roles as Jim Hopper in *Stranger Things* and Red Guardian in *Thunderbolts/New Avengers*—in a leading role. "Never seen a script, but a couple of years ago when that property was still kinda hot. I wrote a short treatment with James Badge Dale and David Harbour in mind," Tjahjanto shared. "Never gotten anywhere."

Over the years, the film had been linked to major stars like Bruce Willis and Jamie Foxx. However, both actors eventually dropped out as the script underwent numerous rewrites. Another iteration of the project reportedly considered Gerard Butler and Vin Diesel for the titular roles, but this too failed to materialize.

Following the lukewarm reception of the 2010 sequel, *Kane & Lynch: Dog Days*, IO Interactive shifted its focus entirely to the *Hitman* franchise, effectively putting the *Kane & Lynch* series on the back burner.
