Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.3 Details Announced, No Switch 2 Update

by George Sep 16,2025

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3 Launches July 17 with New Features

Cyberpunk 2077's 2.3 update arrives on July 17 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, CD Projekt Red confirmed. However, the Nintendo Switch 2 version will receive the patch later as developers require additional optimization time.

Vehicle Overhaul and New Customization Options

The update delivers significant vehicle improvements, including three new cars and Cyberpunk's first customizable motorcycle. Lead designer Adrien Jouannet explained these vehicles unlock through special quests designed to feel organic within Night City's world. Associate Game Director Paweł Sasko emphasized these quests won't affect completion percentages for achievement hunters.

Revolutionary AutoDrive Feature

The headline addition is the new AutoDrive system that transforms transportation across Night City:

  • Set navigation markers for hands-free driving
  • System follows all traffic laws automatically
  • Includes a free roam "wandering mode" for exploration
  • Delamain taxis now offer AutoDrive services

The feature disengages during combat encounters, which developers have intentionally made rare during autonomous driving sequences.

Enhanced Visual Experiences

Update 2.3 substantially upgrades the game's photography tools:

  • Dynamic time-of-day and weather controls in Photo Mode
  • 27 new NPC models for arranged scenes
  • Additional character outfits and natural poses
  • New cinematic driving camera angles

CD Projekt also announced an upcoming Photo Mode competition to showcase these new creative tools.

Technical Advancements

The update brings several graphics improvements:

  • AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3.1 support at launch
  • Future FSR 4.0 integration planned
  • Proper HDR10+ gaming implementation
  • VRR support coming to console versions

The Mac version of Cyberpunk 2077 launches simultaneously with update 2.3 on July 17.

While CD Projekt hasn't confirmed if this marks Cyberpunk 2077's final update, speculation grows about potential anniversary content coinciding with the game's five-year milestone this December.
