Following the March 2025 update, Essence Stones can be discovered inside chests scattered throughout the mines in *Fields of Mistria*. My first encounter with these stones was while searching for items to break the Fire Seal on Floor 60, but you can stumble upon them on any level across various biomes. Be cautious of mimic enemies that mimic chests and can harm you upon interaction.

Essence Stones vary in size, with smaller stones being more common. If you're struggling to find them, consider crafting them after building the Stone Refinery within the mines.

How To Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Crafting Essence Stones is possible at the Stone Refinery, a new feature introduced with the March 2025 update. This facility is part of a new story quest where Adeline enlists your help, along with Olric and Errol, to construct the refinery within the mines.

To build the Stone Refinery, you'll need:

• x200 Wood
• x400 Stone
• x5,000 Tesserae

Once operational, the Stone Refinery allows you to craft Essence Stones of different sizes using Stone and Essence. The crafting requirements vary by size:

The Stone Refinery also enables crafting a variety of common materials, Refined Stone, and rare items like Obsidian and Diamond, making it a crucial hub for resources needed in new builds and projects across Mistria.

How To Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The auto-petter and sprinkler mechanics, introduced in the March 2025 update, both require Essence Stones to function effectively. Larger stones provide a longer charge, with Large Essence Stones offering the most extended duration.

The auto-petter mechanic is linked to the Animal Sprite Statue, which you can place in Large Barns and Coops. It automatically pets all animals daily as long as an Essence Stone is in use. This rare statue is found in a hidden cave near Errol's house in the Narrows, accessible using the Dragon's Breath spell. Additional statues can be crafted once the item is unlocked.

The sprinkler mechanic is activated by the Water Sprite Statue, which can be placed anywhere on your farm to water crops within a 2-tile radius when powered by an Essence Stone. You'll find this statue and its crafting scroll on a small island east of the beach, beyond the Lighthouse area. Use Dragon's Breath to enter the island.

As *Fields of Mistria* evolves with future updates from NPC Studio, Essence Stones are likely to play an even more significant role in enhancing gameplay and managing daily tasks.
