Known Habitats – Windward Plains, Scarlet Forest, and Ruins of Wyveria
Breakable Parts – Tail and Forelegs
Recommended Elemental Attack – Fire and Lightning
Effective Status Effects – Poison (2x), Sleep (2x), Paralysis (2x), Blastblight (2x), Stun (2x), Exhaust (2x)
Effective Items – Flash Pod, Shock Trap, Pitfall Trap
Use Flash Pod
Despite its large size, the Doshaguma is incredibly agile, capable of quick jumps and dashes that can make it a challenging target, especially for those wielding melee weapons. Utilizing a Flash Pod can momentarily stun this beast, blinding it for a few crucial seconds. This gives you the perfect window to land powerful attacks or even mount the monster for a tactical advantage.
Attack the Legs
Targeting the Doshaguma's legs is highly effective, with the forelegs boasting a 3-star weakness, making them prime targets for heavy damage. While the back legs are less vulnerable with a 2-star weakness, they're still viable. The head also presents a 3-star weakness, ideal for significant damage. Additionally, although less damaging, breaking the tail can yield valuable parts.
Use Fire and Lightning
In your battle against Doshaguma, leveraging fire and lightning elements can turn the tide. Bowgun users should equip Flaming and Thunder ammo, while melee users can enhance their weapons with fire skill decorations. Focus your fire attacks on the head and torso, whereas lightning should be directed specifically at the head for maximum impact.
Beware of Blastblight
Doshaguma doesn't just rely on physical might; it can also inflict Blastblight, a status ailment that can lead to an explosive end if not addressed. To counteract this, carry Nulberries or Deodorant to cure the effect. Alternatively, dodge-rolling three times can shake off the Blastblight, ensuring you stay in the fight.
Use Traps
While brute force might be tempting, don't overlook the environment. The areas where Doshaguma roams are often littered with natural traps that can be used to your advantage. Remember to sheath your weapon before deploying your slinger, and make sure the monster is perfectly positioned under the trap before triggering it.

Instead of killing, you might choose to capture Doshaguma alive. To do so, weaken it until its HP drops to 20% or below. Set a Shock or Pitfall Trap in its path, and guide the monster towards it. If it's not focused on you, use Luring Ammo or place meat to draw its attention. Once trapped, quickly administer tranquilizers until it falls asleep, ensuring a successful capture.
That's all you need to know about effectively hunting and capturing Doshaguma in Monster Hunter Wilds. Don't forget to fuel up with a hearty meal before the fight to gain essential food buffs.
