Clash of Clans to Remove Troop Training Times in Major Update

by Ava May 14,2025

Clash of Clans, a legendary name in mobile gaming, is about to undergo a significant transformation that could redefine the gameplay experience for its dedicated fanbase. Supercell is set to completely eliminate troop training times, allowing players to deploy their armies almost instantly. This change will enable you to jump into battles more quickly than ever before. However, it's crucial to use your Training Potions or Treats wisely, as they will soon become obsolete. These items will no longer be available through in-app purchases or chest rewards, and will be converted to Gems by the end of the month.

While Clash of Clans may show its age in some aspects, Supercell has been actively working to modernize the game. The removal of troop training times follows the elimination of training costs in 2022, marking another major step forward. You can still obtain Training Potions and Treats from the Trader and Gold Pass for now, but it's a "use it or lose it" scenario.

To complement this change, Supercell is introducing a new feature called "Match Anytime." This mechanic lets you attack a snapshot of another player's base when no real opponents are available. You'll earn rewards without affecting the original player's resources if you win. This system, already used in Clan Wars and Legend League, will now be a standard feature, enhancing your gaming experience.

Keep an eye out for additional updates, such as Army Donations now requiring Elixirs or Dark Elixirs. For a comprehensive look at all the changes, head over to the Supercell blog.
