Following the leak, producer Feng Ji took to Weibo to address fans and the spoilers. In his post (translated via machine translation), Feng elucidated that spoilers can diminish the exhilarating sense of discovery and role-playing that the game offers. Black Myth Wukong's allure hinges on players' "curiosity," the producer added.

Feng also implored players to refrain from spoiling this element of surprise for others, stating that fans must assume the responsibility to avoid viewing and sharing the leaked content. "If an acquaintance explicitly expresses a desire to remain unspoiled regarding the game, kindly assist in safeguarding their experience."
