Iconic Bethesda voice actor Wes Johnson, renowned for his roles in games such as The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, Fallout 3, and Starfield, was discovered in a critical condition last week. Found "barely alive" in his hotel room, his family is now reaching out to fans for support during this challenging time.

According to PC Gamer, Johnson's wife Kim, along with other family members, has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to help cover his medical expenses and financial needs while he is unable to work. The GoFundMe page states, "Right now, Wes continues to battle for his life in an intensive care unit."

Johnson had traveled to Atlanta to host a benefit event for the National Alzheimer’s Foundation on January 22. However, after checking into his hotel, he failed to appear at the event, prompting concern. "When he didn’t show up at the event, his wife Kim tried desperately to get in touch with him," the post on the GoFundMe page explained. It was hotel security who eventually entered his room and found him unconscious and barely alive. Emergency medical technicians struggled to find a pulse upon their arrival.

The fundraising effort set an initial target of $50,000, which has been surpassed by a significant margin, with donations reaching $144,791 from 2,200 supporters. Johnson's extensive career includes not only voicing beloved characters in video games, primarily in Bethesda titles, but also serving as the public address announcer for the Washington Capitals for 25 years, and appearing in various film and television roles.

Some of Johnson's notable video game roles include Ron Hope in Starfield, Prince of Madness Sheogorath and Lucien Lachance in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, three Daedric Princes (Boethiah, Malacath, and Molag Bal) in The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind, Fawkes and Mister Burke in Fallout 3, Hermaeus Mora and Emperor Titus Mede II in Skyrim, and Moe Cronin in Fallout 4, among others.
