Shifting Tides: Alien - Earth Episode 4 Review

The aptly named "Observation," the fourth episode of Alien: Earth, continues the tradition of fitting titles for the franchise's first television series. Showrunner Noah Hawley and the team slow down the xenomorph-centric action surrounding the crashed Maginot to assess the circumstances. If the series is an experiment in storytelling within the Alien universe, this is the stage where you step back and analyze the outcomes of the elements introduced thus far. This is precisely what Kirsh and the other Prodigy Corporation scientists are doing on-screen. However, as an individual chapter, "Observation" operates on a meta-level, while also shifting focus sharply toward questions about the true nature of the Lost Boys and introducing the season's most unusual—and likely most controversial—plot development.
