Hexanaut.io, or simply known as Hexanaut, is an engaging IO game centered around capturing and expanding your territory. The goal is simple yet challenging: claim as much land as you can while avoiding being cut off by other players. One wrong move and you could lose everything. Navigate carefully, plan your routes, and be strategic with every line you draw.

On the map, you’ll find special totems that grant unique abilities when captured. These bonuses can give you a crucial edge over your opponents. So, how large of an area can you dominate? Put your reflexes and strategy to the test in this addictive territory-conquering experience.

HEXANAUT GAME INSTRUCTIONS

Control your character using the mouse. As you move, you leave behind a trail that marks your territory. When you return to your existing domain, the area enclosed becomes yours—locking in all newly claimed tiles.

But beware: while you're outside your territory, you’re vulnerable. If another player steps onto your trail, it’s game over for you, and you’ll have to start all over again.

Aim to control at least 20% of the map to become a Hexanaut. Once you've reached this milestone, hold onto your territory for two full minutes to secure victory!

Important note: if you get eliminated while another player is a Hexanaut, you won’t be able to rejoin the match.

CAPTURE TOTEMS FOR STRATEGIC ADVANTAGE

There are five distinct totems scattered across the map, each offering its own powerful ability. Capturing them gives you a significant tactical advantage, so always look for opportunities to take control safely.

SPREADING TOTEM
The Spreading Totem (also known as the Expanding Totem) helps you gain new hexes automatically. Upon capture, it emits laser beams that gradually convert nearby tiles into your territory. This is especially helpful during the early stages when expansion can be tough.

SPEED TOTEM
The Speed Totem boosts your movement speed by 5%. While it may not seem like much at first, stacking multiple Speed Totems makes a noticeable difference. Prioritize collecting these to enhance your mobility and efficiency on the battlefield.

TELEPORTING GATE
Teleporting Gates allow instant travel between locations. Perfect for managing large areas of land quickly, these gates let you bypass long journeys across your domain. They also serve as a surprise tactic—you can teleport directly behind unsuspecting enemies and cut their trails before they react.

SLOWING TOTEM
With the Slowing Totem active, any opponent who enters its zone will experience a severe slowdown. It acts like a trap, giving you a clear advantage. Use this opportunity to target trapped players. Conversely, avoid enemy Slowing Totems unless you're willing to risk being caught at a disadvantage.

SPY DISH
The Spy Dish reveals the exact territories controlled by all other players on the map. Though subtle in appearance, this totem becomes increasingly valuable as your domain grows. It allows you to monitor threats and defend critical sections of your land effectively.
