Xion, the last bastion of humanity, will transform into a cozy haven adorned with warm lights and holiday decorations in red, green, and white. The Last Gulp and Eve’s camp will embrace the festive spirit, spreading joy throughout Xion. The camp will also feature seasonal BGM tracks like “Dawn (Winter)” and “Take me away,” offering a soothing break from the usual battles.

Additionally, the update introduces a new mini-game in Xion. While details are still under wraps, it appears that shooting targets on a holiday-themed drone will reward Eve with special prizes.

The latest update also introduces a feature to toggle seasonal events, including the Nier:Automata DLC. Navigate to the game’s Settings, find Gameplay, and adjust the Seasonal Event Content setting. Choose from:

⚫︎ Auto - automatically enables or disables seasonal content based on the current season
⚫︎ Disable - turns off seasonal content, regardless of the season
⚫︎ Enable - activates seasonal content, regardless of the season

This new feature allows players to enjoy seasonal content at their convenience. Note that the game will restart to the most recent save after changing this setting.

Mostly Well-Received, But Not Everyone Is Happy

Following PlayStation's announcement on Twitter (X) on December 16, most fans expressed excitement for the new update. Many playfully dubbed Eve "Christmas Eve," blending the holiday spirit with the protagonist's name. Fans also appreciated Shift Up's commitment to regular seasonal updates.

However, some voiced concerns about the frequency of event updates, questioning their fit for a game like Stellar Blade. Others found the need to restart the game to access seasonal content inconvenient.

While many games with seasonal content are multiplayer and highly replayable, Stellar Blade is a single-player game that can be completed in about 30 hours. This shorter playtime means players might need to restart the game to fully enjoy its seasonal offerings, as there's limited content post-story completion.
