This challenge takes place at 42 Edgefield Road, a map known for its tight corridors and blind spots, which adds to the difficulty of tracking and evading the ghost.

Upon entering 42 Edgefield Road, remember that you won't have access to usual evidence-gathering tools like Ghost Writing Books or DOTs Projectors. Instead, focus on the ghost's unique behaviors and traits.

You'll start with virtually no setup time and zero sanity, making you immediately susceptible to ghost hunts. Sanity cannot be restored, so be ready to navigate this challenge under constant threat. Despite the lack of traditional evidence tools, the ghost will be highly active, providing frequent opportunities to observe its behavior. Remember, the ghost's favorite room remains constant, which can be a critical clue.

Most doors will be partially open, complicating location detection, but the fuse box will be functional and on, offering a small advantage. All nine hiding spots at 42 Edgefield Road are available, giving you multiple options to hide during hunts.

The only Cursed Possession provided is the Monkey Paw. Using it to "wish for knowledge" can eliminate incorrect evidence and ghost types from your Journal, increasing your chances of identifying the ghost correctly. However, this wish comes at a high cost: temporary blindness and deafness, followed by a Cursed Hunt. This strategy is best suited for groups, where one player can act as a sacrifice.

How to Access Challenge Mode in Phasmophobia

To access Challenge Mode, navigate to the Difficulty Settings in the Main Menu. Choose Singleplayer or Multiplayer to start a new lobby, then select the Difficulty tab above your character ID. Scroll to find Challenge Mode, select 'Apply,' and then choose 42 Edgefield Road from the Maps board. To earn the full $5,000 reward, you must complete the challenge three times, successfully identifying the ghost each time.
