New Nintendo Switch Indies Reviewed & More

by David Feb 14,2025

Farewell, SwitchArcade Readers! This is the final regular SwitchArcade Round-Up from me. After several years, I'm moving on to new adventures. But before I go, let's celebrate with one last look at the week's gaming news!

Reviews & Mini-Views

Fitness Boxing feat. HATSUNE MIKU ($49.99)

Imagineer's Fitness Boxing series continues with a collaboration featuring Hatsune Miku. This rhythm-based fitness game offers daily workouts, mini-games, and Miku-themed content. While the music is excellent, the main instructor's voice is somewhat jarring. Best used as a supplement to other fitness routines rather than a standalone program. Joy-Con only.

SwitchArcade Score: 4/5

Magical Delicacy ($24.99)

A Metroidvania-style platformer with cooking and crafting elements. While the exploration and pixel art are strong, inventory management and UI could use improvement. The game's charm shines through, but some polish is needed. Plays well on Switch, though some frame pacing issues were noted.

SwitchArcade Score: 4/5

Aero The Acro-Bat 2 ($5.99)

A polished sequel to the 16-bit classic. This release features a significantly improved emulation wrapper with added features like achievements, a gallery, and a jukebox. Only the Super NES version is included, which is a slight disappointment. A solid platformer for fans of the genre.

SwitchArcade Score: 3.5/5

Metro Quester | Osaka ($19.99)

A prequel to Metro Quester, set in Osaka. This expansion-like title introduces a new dungeon, characters, and mechanics, building upon the original's turn-based combat and top-down exploration. Requires patience and strategic planning.

SwitchArcade Score: 4/5
