- Sign-ups for the Containment Test are live
- Three languages currently supported
- Mobile users will have to wait
Hotta Studio’s highly anticipated next major release, Neverness to Everness, has reached a significant development milestone with closed beta sign-ups now available. Officially named the Containment Test, this exclusive PC beta grants early access to the game’s unique blend of urban open-world action RPG elements, chaos, exploration, and Esper-driven powers.
Set within the expansive city of Hethereau, Neverness to Everness delivers a vibrant setting where supernatural anomalies coexist with high-speed pursuits and lifestyle choices. Fans who’ve viewed the trailers will recognize the game’s quirky, surreal tone—imagine graffiti-tagged skateboards with minds of their own, otters with television heads, and an eerie midnight atmosphere.
Players will navigate this strange world using Esper Abilities, tackling unexplained phenomena while balancing everyday life with surreal challenges. This beta provides an exclusive first glimpse at the innovative systems that set Neverness to Everness apart from its genre peers.
Unlike traditional open-world RPGs, urban driving serves as a central mechanic, enhanced by customizable cars and destructible crashes for added realism. Additional lifestyle features such as home ownership and interior design extend gameplay beyond combat, offering opportunities to immerse yourself in city life or indulge in obsessive decorating between missions.
For those eagerly awaiting mobile availability, unfortunately, the Containment Test is currently PC-exclusive. However, the full release is scheduled for PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android. Stay tuned while you patiently wait!
The Containment Test supports English, Japanese, and Chinese voice-overs, along with multiple text language options. Despite entering a competitive urban RPG market alongside titles like Zenless Zone Zero and Ananta, Neverness to Everness leverages the visual prowess of Unreal Engine 5 and Hotta Studio’s acclaimed legacy from Tower of Fantasy. This promising new world aims to carve out its own distinct niche.
