Wuthering Waves: How To Defeat The Lifer
Conquer the Lifer: A Wuthering Waves 2.0 Guide
Wuthering Waves version 2.0's Rinascita region introduces challenging new Tacet Discords, including the Lifer—a formidable variant of the Chop Chop found in Oakheart Highcourt's maze. This guide details how to overcome this unique enemy.
Locating the Lifer
The Lifer resides at the maze's heart in Oakheart Highcourt, beneath a massive tree. Access isn't initially straightforward; a convenient entrance lies southwest, near the Resonance Beacon. Players can climb or utilize the Flight function to reach it.
The Lifer's Board Game
Inside, you'll find the Lifer beside a six-piece board game. The goal: connect three pieces before the Lifer does. You control black, the Lifer white. Crucially, the board game manipulates the maze's walls. Placing a black piece on the outer circle opens walls and gates in that direction. You can exit and resume the game at any point.
While not mandatory for combat, the board game is crucial for debuffing the Lifer. Avoid winning before removing buffs; the Lifer will immediately attack.
Removing the Lifer's Buffs
The Lifer boasts seven buffs, significantly increasing its resilience and damage output. Four are removable using the Stake of Imbalance; three are permanent. Examine the glowing yellow module behind the Lifer to see its buffs.
Removable Buffs (Fragility):
- Growing Loneliness: HP recovery after 2 seconds of inactivity.
- Desire for Escape: Increased ATK and additional DMG increase every 20 seconds.
- Impending Stalemate: ATK increase stacking with each hit (up to 4 times).
- Decay of Time: Significant resistance boosts and Max HP increase.
Permanent Buffs (Stability):
- Chains of Confinement: Interruption immunity above 50% HP.
- Endless Game: Reduced Immobilization duration.
- Divine Garden: Repels and damages nearby enemies after taking significant damage.
To find the Stakes of Imbalance, use the Sensor near the Lifer. Four purple lines reveal their locations in outer maze rooms. Manipulate the board game to open the gates to these rooms. Each room contains a winged statue and a Stake (glowing white). Some rooms require combat or environmental puzzle solving.
Place each Stake in the corresponding module to remove a buff. The purple line will turn yellow upon successful debuffing.
Defeating the Lifer
With the four removable buffs gone, the Lifer is significantly weaker. Engage via the board game or the "Fight it out!" option. Its attacks pose little threat.
Victories yield Premium and Basic/Standard/Advanced Supply Chests (rewards vary per victory). You can re-enable buffs for a tougher challenge, but there are no associated achievements.
Lifer Achievements
- The Lifer's Salvation: Defeat the Lifer.
- The Ring of The Lifer: Defeat the Lifer three times for all chests.
- Limit of Intelligence: Win the board game.
- Alpha Go: Lose the board game 10 times.
For the board game, focus on preventing the Lifer from creating lines. It will eventually make mistakes.
