Unlocking All Characters in BlazBlue Entropy Effect: A Guide

by Patrick May 13,2025

Unlocking characters in *BlazBlue Entropy Effect* is a unique journey, requiring items known as Prototype Analyzers. These are essential for unlocking all new characters, except for the DLC characters which you can purchase. Our comprehensive guide not only explains how to obtain these Prototype Analyzers but also lists every playable character in the game.

BlazBlue Entropy Effect: How To Unlock Characters

Your first step into unlocking characters begins right after the tutorial, where you'll receive your initial Prototype Analyzer. Follow the path to the right out of the Acer Program room, and you'll find yourself in a room with a glowing platform. Interact with this platform to access the character selection menu and choose your desired character.

For subsequent unlocks, you'll need more Prototype Analyzers. Return to the same room and use the platform to unlock additional characters. Note that DLC characters like Rachel and Hazama (available as of March 2025) are exceptions; these are automatically unlocked upon purchasing and installing their respective character packs.

BlazBlue Entropy Effect: How To Get More Prototype Analyzers

*Entropy Effect* offers multiple ways to acquire more Prototype Analyzers, though patience is key.

Progress the Story

As you advance through the game's story and complete training missions, you'll unlock gray skills. Specific milestones in unlocking these skills reward you with Prototype Analyzers:

  • Unlocking 10 gray skills
  • Unlocking 20 gray skills
  • Unlocking 40 gray skills

Additionally, a key event later in the story automatically grants you another Prototype Analyzer. Note that unlocking green skills via Potential does not yield Prototype Analyzers. Currently, you can only acquire three through story progression unless developer 91Act introduces more methods.

Complete Mind Challenges and Spend AP

Another avenue for obtaining Prototype Analyzers involves the Mind Challenge mode. Accumulate Action Points (AP) by completing these challenges and then speak to the janitor to trade 5,000 AP for a Prototype Analyzer. Be aware that this method isn't frequent, so plan your AP expenditure wisely.

BlazBlue Entropy Effect: All Characters

As of March 2025, *BlazBlue Entropy Effect* features 12 characters, with 10 available in the base game and 2 as paid DLC. Here's an overview of each character and how to unlock them using Prototype Analyzers:

Ragna the Bloodedge

Ragna from BlazBlue Entropy Effect

Ragna is your go-to melee fighter with a unique twist. As a close-range attacker, he powers up as his HP decreases. His special ability allows him to sacrifice health for buffs, then siphon it back from enemies.

Jin Kisaragi

Jin from BlazBlue Entropy Effect

Another melee combatant, Jin specializes in swordplay and ice skills. He can freeze opponents and, with well-timed combos, boosts his strength significantly while disorienting foes with his speed.

Noel Vermillion

Noel from BlazBlue Entropy Effect

Noel excels in ranged combat, capable of launching missiles in any direction. Her special ability reduces skill cooldown times, and her Over-Exhaust feature allows continuous skill use even when her MP hits zero.

Taokaka

Taokaka from BlazBlue Entropy Effect

Though she may struggle against heavily armored foes, Taokaka's versatility in builds compensates for this. Her Spinny Spinny attack hits multiple times and builds status effects, making her highly adaptable.

Hakumen

Hakumen from BlazBlue Entropy Effect

Hakumen is the quintessential tank, slow yet powerful. His ability to counter at a reduced MP cost after blocking attacks, combined with a midair attack option, makes him a formidable defender.

Lambda-11

Lamda-11 from BlazBlue Entropy Effect

Lambda-11 excels in both close and long-range combat. Her skills continue to damage enemies even when not directly engaged, making her a versatile fighter for any situation.

Kokonoe

Kokonoe from BlazBlue Entropy Effect

Often considered one of the weaker characters, Kokonoe requires meticulous management of lasers and crowd control effects. However, with the right damage-over-time build, she can still be a formidable opponent.

Hibiki Kohaku

Hibiki from BlazBlue Entropy Effect

Hibiki excels in evasion and crowd control, keeping enemies at bay. While not the most powerful, his ability to avoid damage makes him a strong contender.

Es

Es from BlazBlue Entropy Effect

Es is a powerhouse even without unlocking potentials. With counterattacks after dodging, mid-air combos, and crowd control abilities, she's a well-rounded character.

Mai Natsume

Mai from BlazBlue Entropy Effect

Mai has a high skill ceiling, requiring mastery of her combos. Her Heavy Attack is notable, but her true strength lies in chaining attacks for maximum damage and mobility.

Rachel Alucard

Rachel from BlazBlue Entropy Effect

Rachel is exceptionally powerful, with fast movements and the ability to reset her dodge. Her wide-reaching abilities and a near-unavoidable stun move make her a top choice.

Hazama

Hazama from BlazBlue Entropy Effect

Hazama demands strategic play due to his complex input moves. While challenging to master, his potential as one of the game's strongest characters is undeniable once you understand his mechanics.
