Transformers Gameplay Revealed Despite Cancellation

Leaked gameplay footage of the canceled Transformers: Reactivate has re-emerged online. Splash Damage, the developer, announced the co-op game in 2022, promising a multiplayer experience featuring Generation 1 Autobots and Decepticons uniting against an alien threat.

Despite initial hype, the game saw minimal public appearances beyond leaks and related merchandise. Subsequent cancellation led to speculation, and now, footage from a 2020 build has surfaced. This showcases Bumblebee navigating a destroyed city, seamlessly transforming and utilizing various weapons. The gameplay bears resemblance to Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, but features an alien enemy force known as "the Legion."

The leaked footage, while showing some unfinished textures, demonstrates a polished aesthetic and includes environmental destruction. An incomplete cutscene depicts Bumblebee emerging from a portal in a ravaged New York City, communicating with an ally named Devin.

Numerous other leaks from 2020 predate the game's official announcement and cancellation. While Transformers: Reactivate will remain unplayed, the leaked footage offers a glimpse into the project's potential.
