Supermarket Innovation: Empowering Self-Checkout for Enhanced Customer Experience

by Zoe Feb 11,2025

In Supermarket Together, you're the store manager, responsible for smooth operations. However, single-handedly managing everything from checkout to restocking can quickly become overwhelming. While teamwork simplifies things, solo players, especially on higher difficulties, might struggle in the late game even with hired staff. A self-checkout system offers a solution.

How to Build a Self-Checkout

Constructing a self-checkout in Supermarket Together is simple. Access the Builder Menu (press Tab) and locate the self-checkout option. It costs $2,500.

Is a Self-Checkout Worth It?

Self-checkouts function as expected, diverting customers from busy cashier lines, reducing wait times and the risk of impatient customers leaving without paying.

While affordable, early-game resources are precious. Prioritize stocking and new products from the Franchise Board before investing in self-checkouts. If you have friends, multiple cashier counters are a better early-game strategy. Hiring employees for existing counters is also an option.

However, self-checkouts increase the risk of theft. More self-checkout counters attract more shoplifters. Strengthen security measures to protect profits.

Late-game, high-difficulty scenarios bring increased customer traffic, more litter, and more theft. Self-checkout terminals provide valuable assistance when solo managing becomes too challenging.
