S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl Roadmap for Q2 2025
Updates Every 3 Months
GSC Gameworld, the developers behind S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, have shared their latest roadmap, committing to quarterly updates to keep the community engaged and informed. On April 14, STALKER's official Twitter (X) account announced the roadmap for Q2 2025, detailing the upcoming enhancements.
The roadmap will be segmented into quarterly updates, with detailed patch notes to ensure transparency on whether the promised features have been successfully integrated into the game. Following the successful Q1 updates that addressed major issues and introduced numerous hotfixes, the team is set to continue improving the game based on player feedback.
Here’s a sneak peek at what fans can look forward to in the next update:
- Beta Mod SDK Kit
- A-Life/AI Updates
- Mutant Loot
- Shader Compilation Skip
- Player Stash Window Increase
- Wide Screen Aspect Ratio Support
- 2 New Weapons
- Further Stabilization, Optimization, and "Anomalies" Fixing
- STALKER Original Trilogy Next-Gen Update
Beta Mod SDK Kit, A-Life Updates, and More
GSC Gameworld has outlined the key updates they plan to implement, focusing on two major areas: the Beta Mod SDK Kit and further enhancements to the A-Life system. They intend to conduct a closed beta with mod makers to refine the ModKit before its official release. Additionally, they aim to integrate Mod.io and Steam Workshop to enhance the modding experience.
The A-Life system, crucial for the game's NPC AI and simulation, will see continued improvements. Following a substantial 110 GB update for the Christmas patch last year, the developers are set to introduce "persistent A-Life improvements" and enhance human combat with smarter tactics, including better use of cover, flanking, and limited grenade usage.
Mutants will also receive updates, with new behaviors such as eating corpses and reacting to threats. Other planned features include the introduction of mutant loot, the ability to skip shader compilation, an expanded player stash window, support for wide screen aspect ratios, two new unspecified weapons, and ongoing efforts to stabilize and optimize the game.
As an exciting side note, fans of the original STALKER trilogy can look forward to a next-gen update. More details on these updates will be shared as their release dates approach. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is currently available on Xbox Series X|S and PC. Stay tuned to our articles for the latest updates on the game!
