Palworld: Method to Acquire Dark Fragment Revealed
Palworld's Dark Fragments: A Guide to Finding and Using This Elusive Material
Pocketpair's Palworld, with its expansive open world and captivating creatures, continues to enthrall players. The Feybreak DLC added a wealth of crafting materials, including the enigmatic Dark Fragments. Essential for crafting high-tier equipment, these fragments are worth seeking out.
Obtaining Dark Fragments
To acquire Dark Fragments, you must hunt Dark-elemental Pals exclusively found on Feybreak Island. This doesn't apply to Dark Pals on other islands. Many ground and water-type Pals inhabit the coastal areas; venture inland to locate Dark-elemental Pals. Note that some, like Starryon, are primarily nocturnal unless they're boss variants.
Capturing or defeating these Pals (using Ultimate or Exotic Spheres is recommended) yields 1-3 Dark Fragments per Pal, though this isn't guaranteed. Efficiently tracking down Dark Pals is key to accumulating a sufficient supply.
The following Dark-elemental Pals drop Dark Fragments. Be aware that boss and predator variants exist in various locations:
Pal Name | Drop Rate |
---|---|
Starryon | 1-2 x Dark Fragments |
Omascul | 1-2 x Dark Fragments |
Splatterina | 2-3 x Dark Fragments |
Dazzi Noct | 1 x Dark Fragment |
Kitsun Noct | 1-2 x Dark Fragments |
Starryon (Boss Variant) | 1-2 x Dark Fragments |
Rampaging Starryon | 1-2 x Dark Fragments |
Omascul (Boss Variant) | 1-2 x Dark Fragments |
Splatterina (Boss Variant) | 2-3 x Dark Fragments |
Dazzi Noct (Boss Variant) | 1 x Dark Fragment |
Kitsun Noct (Boss Variant) | 1-2 x Dark Fragments |
Rampaging Omascul | 1-2 x Dark Fragments |
Rampaging Splatterina | 2-3 x Dark Fragments |
While less reliable, single Dark Fragments may randomly appear on the ground in Feybreak. Thorough exploration is advised, but remember that constant combat will deplete ammo, which you might need for challenges like Bjorn, the island's formidable Tower Boss.
Utilizing Dark Fragments
Dark Fragments, though difficult to amass, aren't used in a vast array of recipes. They primarily craft specialized saddles, accessories for certain Pals, and enhanced boots (dash and jump) for your character.
To craft these items, you must first unlock the schematic in your Technology Menu (or Ancient Technology Menu) using Technology Points. You'll also need the necessary machines and other crafting materials.
Crafted Item | How to Unlock |
---|---|
Homing Module | Level 57 in Technology Menu (5 Technology Points) |
Triple Jump Boots | Level 58 in Ancient Technology Menu (3 Points; Defeat Feybreak Tower Boss) |
Double Air Dash Boots | Level 54 in Ancient Technology Menu (3 Points) |
Smokie's Harness | Level 56 in Technology Menu (3 Technology Points) |
Dazzi Noct's Necklace | Level 52 in Technology Menu (3 Technology Points) |
Starryon Saddle | Level 57 in Technology Menu (4 Technology Points) |
Nyafia's Shotgun | Level 53 in Technology Menu (3 Technology Points) |
