Lego Unveils New Minecraft Movie Sets Featuring Familiar and Unexpected Mobs

Ahead of the live-action Minecraft movie, Lego has announced two new sets offering glimpses into the film's anticipated mob roster. As reported by GamesRadar, the "Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring" and "The Ghast Balloon Village Attack" sets join the existing Minecraft Lego lineup, featuring minifigures of Jack Black's Steve and Jason Momoa's Garbage Man.

The $49.99, 491-piece Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring depicts a gladiator-style battle. Momoa's character faces off against a zombie riding a giant chicken – the scale remains ambiguous, potentially a baby zombie on a regular chicken, but significantly taller than the Garbage Man. The set also includes Steve, Henry, a giant zombie pigman, a treasure chest, and a small viewing stand with weaponry.

The $69.99, 555-piece Ghast Balloon Village Attack set showcases the Nether's Ghast in a large-scale village battle. This set includes a villager, two piglins, Steve, Natalie, Dawn, and an iron golem.

Both sets launch March 1st, a month before the Minecraft movie's April 4th theatrical release. The film's September reveal sparked initial fan backlash due to the contrast between live-action characters and the CGI world. However, the director and producer, in a November interview with IGN, expressed preparedness for varied audience reactions.
