"Infinity Nikki Fans Threaten Boycott Over Update 1.5 Changes"
Infinity Nikki and its multiplayer-focused 1.5 update have finally made their debut on Steam, but the launch has been overshadowed by a series of controversies and technical issues.
Infold Games' stylish dress-up adventure, which was previously exclusive to the Epic Game Store, hit Valve's digital platform yesterday. What should have been a celebratory moment for fans has turned into a source of frustration due to numerous technical problems, unexpected design changes, and demanding outfit requirements. In response, the developers have issued an apology and promised compensation, but the situation remains tense.

While technical issues at launch are not uncommon, the community's frustration extends beyond performance concerns.
The introduction of two new five-star outfits, Snowbound Ballad and Undying Ember, each containing 11 pieces, has raised eyebrows. Players are now facing the prospect of up to 220 pulls to complete these sets, a significant increase from the norm. This unexpected change has sparked fears that future outfits might demand even more effort and resources.
Adding to the confusion, Infold extended the Crown of Miraland: Peak Arena event from two to three weeks, causing further unrest among players. As technical issues persist and monetization practices become more demanding, the Chinese player base took to the social media platform RedNote to voice their concerns. This quickly escalated into a global movement, with players worldwide calling for a boycott of Infinity Nikki on Steam, urging others to leave negative reviews and uninstall the game across all platforms.
"By holding back your pulls for a couple of days, we can show that we want Infinity Nikki to remain fun and fair for all players," Reddit user kiaxxl emphasized in a call-to-action post. "In gacha games, the success of new content is often gauged in the first few days. Delaying pulls can send a strong message to the game's digital income trackers."
The backlash has been significant enough to impact Infinity Nikki's Steam rating, which now stands at "Mixed" as players leave warnings for potential new users to steer clear until their demands are met.
The growing unrest prompted Infold to issue an apology letter across its official channels, acknowledging the technical issues and promising improvements in communication regarding future changes.
"Thank you again for your support," the message reads. "We recognize our shortcomings, but it's your continued support that allows Nikki to push the boundaries of imagination. Please give us another chance to ensure Nikki's starlight continues to shine brightly for all of us, with our sincerity unwavering."
Apology Letter Regarding Version 1.5 Gaming Experience
Dear Stylists,
Hope this message finds you well.
First and foremost, we would like to extend our sincerest apologies. We are truly sorry that we were unable to provide you with a stable experience upon the release of the new… pic.twitter.com/YEjpGQpKho— Infinity Nikki (@InfinityNikkiEN) April 29, 2025
The apology includes plans to revert the Mira Crown event to end on May 16 and start the next season on the same day. Players will also receive compensation in the form of 10 Revelation Crystals, 10 Resonance Crystals, and 1200 Diamonds. While this is a step forward, it falls short of the comprehensive changes many players were hoping for.
While some see Infold's concessions as a victory, others remain skeptical, particularly about the decision to maintain the 11-piece requirement for new outfits. Despite promises of better communication, it appears that some five-star outfits will still have this high piece count.
I wish you would finally change the drop rate.. it can't be that I need 200 pulls to get a 5-star and then you drop like 5 banners within weeks?! Make the rate lower or give us more diamonds to be able to get crystals.. this is not fun!

The community has begun to celebrate the quick response to their concerns, though they acknowledge it's not the complete victory they sought. Boycotters are now urging the community to maintain pressure on Infold.
"Think about it: CN players are pointing out that if we accept the 11-piece outfits and pity as it is, most new 5 stars will be 11 pieces," Reddit user EdensAsmr said. "Imagine if every new major update has two 11-piece 5-star banners? That means you have to save even more to be able to handle it, and 70-80 pulls per patch will not cut it."
