The House of the Dead 2: Remake - A Classic Returns in Spring 2025

Get ready for a blast from the past! Forever Entertainment and MegaPixel Studio are reviving the iconic 1998 arcade horror rail shooter, The House of the Dead 2, with a complete remake launching on all major platforms in Spring 2025.

This updated version promises a revitalized experience for both longtime fans and newcomers. Expect significantly enhanced visuals, new environments to explore, and a variety of gameplay options, including a highly anticipated co-op mode. The original game, a standout in the late 90s, offered a unique alternative to the then-popular Resident Evil franchise, and this remake aims to capture that same thrilling, gory, on-rails shooting action with modern polish.

Originally released on Sega arcade cabinets, The House of the Dead 2 quickly became a genre staple, known for its intense action and hordes of undead enemies. While previous ports existed for consoles like the Sega Dreamcast, original Xbox, and Nintendo Wii, this remake represents a substantial overhaul.

The recently released announcement trailer showcases the game's modernized graphics and remastered soundtrack. Players will once again assume the role of a secret agent battling a zombie outbreak, but this time with expanded environments and gameplay modes. Expect multiple game modes, including a Classic Campaign and Boss Mode, branching level paths, and multiple endings.

Platforms and Release Date:

The House of the Dead 2: Remake is slated for release on Nintendo Switch, PC (via GOG and Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S in Spring 2025. The game will retain the high-octane music, bloody action, and combo counters of the original, but with a modernized look, improved HUD, and enhanced gameplay features.

The revival of The House of the Dead 2 follows the successful trend of bringing back classic horror titles, similar to the Resident Evil remakes and the Clock Tower remaster. Zombie horror fans should mark their calendars for Spring 2025 and prepare for a nostalgic yet modernized zombie-slaying experience.
