ARK: Ultimate Mobile Edition's Impressive Debut: 3 Million Downloads in Three Weeks

ARK: Ultimate Mobile Edition, the free-to-play mobile spin-off of the popular ARK: Survival Evolved franchise, has achieved remarkable success, surpassing three million downloads within its first three weeks of release (December 18th, 2024). This launch significantly outperforms the original mobile port's 2018 debut, demonstrating a substantial increase in player engagement.

Despite receiving mixed reviews, the game's popularity continues to grow on both iOS and Android platforms. Currently, it holds a respectable position in the adventure game charts on both app stores, ranking 24th on iOS and 9th among top-grossing adventure games on Android. While user ratings are currently 3.9/5 on the App Store (412 ratings) and 3.6/5 on the Google Play Store (over 52.5K ratings), the high download numbers indicate strong player interest.

Developer Grove Street Games, also responsible for the enhanced Nintendo Switch port of ARK: Survival Evolved in 2022, is actively expanding the mobile game's content. Future updates will introduce new maps, including Ragnarok, Extinction, Genesis Part 1, and Genesis Part 2, further enriching the dinosaur-filled world.

The game's availability will soon extend beyond mobile platforms. A release on the Epic Games Store is planned for 2025, offering players increased platform choice. Meanwhile, Studio Wildcard, the IP owner, has recently unveiled an updated roadmap for ARK: Survival Ascended, leaving fans anticipating further news on the much-anticipated ARK 2, which missed its projected 2024 release. This continued activity across the ARK franchise underscores its enduring appeal.
