Reaching Bloodmoon Island in Divinity: Original Sin 2

Bloodmoon Island, shrouded in Deathfog and with its connecting bridge destroyed, presents a significant challenge in Divinity: Original Sin 2. This guide outlines the methods to overcome this obstacle and access the island's quests.

Method 1: The Spirit Bridge

The remnants of the bridge, northeast of Cloisterwood, are visible using Spirit Vision. Crossing requires strategic use of:

  1. Gloves of Teleportation: Allows teleporting party members individually across the gaps.
  2. Translocation Skills: Skills like Phoenix Dive, Cloak and Dagger, or Tactical Retreat enable teleporting, but may be limited by party composition.
  3. Teleporter Pyramids: Two pyramids allow one character to cross using translocation, then the rest teleport to their location.
  4. Fast Travel: A character with a translocation skill can reach the island waypoint, enabling the rest of the party to fast travel.

Method 2: The Undead Ferry (Requires Fane)

Fane's undead nature grants immunity to Deathfog. A ferryman northwest of Cloisterwood offers passage, but it's a trap – killing all but Fane. Fane can then reach the waypoint and allow the party to fast travel.

Method 3: The Ferry Without Fane (Requires Teleporter Pyramids)

If Fane isn't in your party, using the ferry requires two Teleporter Pyramids:

  1. Equip a pyramid on a companion.
  2. Send the companion across – they'll die upon arrival.
  3. Use the second pyramid to teleport to the deceased companion.
  4. Resurrect the companion.

This method is less efficient than using the spirit bridge.

Avoiding the Ferryman's Retaliation

It's advisable to avoid attacking the Undead Ferryman, as he can cast a deadly Deathfog spell. If you choose to fight, save your game beforehand. Defeating him yields a Soothing Cold skillbook, a belt, and 3,750 XP. The spirit bridge remains the most reliable and efficient method for parties without Fane.
