How to Craft Artian Weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds

Artian Weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds

Unlocking the ability to craft Artian weapons is your first step. To do this, you must complete the main storyline and advance to High Rank. From there, you'll need to defeat your first Tempered monster. The game keeps the identity of this monster a mystery, but you’ll recognize it by the NPCs' comments on its toughness and numerous scars.

After conquering this formidable foe, Gemma will approach you to discuss Artian weapons, initiating a tutorial that explains the crafting process. Each weapon type requires three components, and you must have at least one of each to start crafting. But there’s more to it:

Components come with a rarity value, an element type, and an Artian bonus. To craft a weapon, components must share the same rarity value. The weapon's elemental effect depends on the dominant element among the components. For example, using two water and one lightning component results in a water weapon. Using three water components enhances the water infusion, but using three different elements yields no elemental infusion.

The Artian bonus offers a choice between an attack boost, which increases your weapon’s damage output, or an affinity boost, enhancing your critical hit chance. Your choice here depends on your preferred playstyle. To craft these weapons, you’ll need to gather Artian materials.

How to Get Artian Materials in Monster Hunter Wilds

Tempered Monster in Monster Hunter Wilds

Acquiring Artian materials involves hunting Tempered monsters in High Rank. Once you've defeated your first Tempered monster, you'll start encountering one or two of these in each area, marked by a distinctive blue outline on the map. You'll receive notifications when they're nearby.

Defeating or capturing a Tempered monster yields a few Artian parts, which you can find among the decorations in your mission rewards. As your hunter rank increases, the rarity of these parts also rises, naturally progressing with your gameplay. While there's no direct correlation between the monster you hunt and the Artian parts you receive, you can choose to hunt monsters you enjoy fighting or those whose parts you need for other weapons or armor. Keep farming to collect the materials you need to craft your perfect Artian weapon.
